RIPA Seminars

We are offering you the opportunity to attend one of our EXCLUSIVE RIPA seminars especially for members of public authorities which are being supported by a first class line up of nationally renowned, RIPA experts.

We are pleased to announce that each seminar will be presented by a RIPA trainer from the National Centre of Policing Excellence (NCPE). There are only 2 such trainers in the country and they deliver the only nationally recognised RIPA Authorising Officers' course in the United Kingdom and are recognised as leading authorities on RIPA. Their course received mention in the Office of Surveillance Commissioners Annual Report 2005/06 and 2006/07.

The Training Consultants Ltd are the only organisation to have also secured the services of Stephen James the former Chief Surveillance Inspector from the Office of Surveillance Commissioners (OSC) to talk at these seminars.

In order to ensure maximum benefit is obtained by the delegates we only book a maximum of 25 places per seminar, so book now to avoid disappointment.

The seminars are one-day in duration and are designed to inform practitioners, managers, authorising officers or lawyers as to current thinking in the area of RIPA.

Each seminar includes:

Human Rights Act
This act will be explained to ensure understanding and explode some of the current myths that surround human rights.

RIPA Legislation:
There will be a presentation regarding the RIPA legislation and relevant case law affecting RIPA activity.

The Office of Surveillance Commissioners (OSC)
Stephen James QPM will give a presentation regarding the role of the OSC and how to prepare for an OSC inspection. He will also lead a discussion forum and answer any questions in relation to the role of the OSC and give his interpretation on contentious areas of this legislation

'What if'?' Scenarios
There will be an opportunity for the trainer and Stephen James to answer any questions from delegates and deal with any 'what if ?' scenarios.
